Priere collects nothing and contacts no server of its own.
The app works entirely offline. The siddur text, the calendar of parashiot and the calculation of the prayer times are all built into the app: nothing is downloaded, nothing is sent — unless you turn on, in the app's settings, backup to your own iCloud account (optional, detailed below).
No account created by the app, no sign-up, no advertising, no analytics, no third-party tracking component.
Data handled
Everything below stays on your device. None of it leaves.

Location
The location permission is optional. If you decline it, the app remains fully usable: simply pick a place from the built-in list.
- iOS — “while using the app” permission only. No background tracking.
- Android — approximate location (
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) only. Fine precision would serve no purpose: across a city, the difference in the times is under a minute.
Your location is not logged over time, not shared, and not used for anything else.
Notifications
The time reminders are local notifications, scheduled by the device from the times calculated on it. No notification server is involved. You can turn them off at any time, in the app’s settings or in the system’s.
Widget
The home screen widget reads the same local data as the app (the chosen place and the summary of the day). It communicates with no service.
iCloud backup (optional)
In the app's settings, you can turn on a backup that copies your personal content and reading preferences (see the table above) to your own iCloud account, so you can get them back after switching devices or reinstalling.
This setting is off by default: until you turn it on, nothing leaves the device, exactly as described above. It is not a service run by the publisher: the data is stored by Apple, under your own Apple ID, with iCloud's own guarantees — the publisher has no access to it.
Your location and the last Birkat HaLevana lunation you marked as read are never sent to iCloud.
You can delete this backup at any time, without uninstalling the app, from Settings → iCloud Backup → Delete my iCloud data. This erases the copy on iCloud and turns off syncing; nothing on the device is touched.
Sharing with third parties
No commercial third party. If you turn on iCloud backup above, a copy of your personal content and preferences goes to your own iCloud account: that is personal storage with Apple, not sharing with a third party in the sense of this policy. Outside of that case, and as long as this setting stays off, no data leaves the device.
Retention and deletion
As all data is stored locally, uninstalling the app deletes it permanently. You can also withdraw the location permission at any time in the system settings.
If you turned on iCloud backup, you can erase that copy without uninstalling (see "iCloud backup" above).
Children
The app is not directed at children in particular, and it collects no data whatever the age of the person using it.
Your rights (GDPR)
The GDPR governs the processing of personal data by a controller. Here, no personal data is collected or processed by the publisher: the information stays under your sole control, on your device. The rights of access, rectification, erasure and portability are therefore exercised directly — the data is materially available to you, and uninstalling erases it. If you turn on iCloud backup, Apple stores a copy under your own Apple ID, as part of your direct relationship with Apple — the publisher has no access to it at any point.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published at this address, with an updated date. A change that introduced any data collection would be stated explicitly in the release notes.
